About
About Anna Macoboy, owner of Mr Sparrow…
I started Mr Sparrow as a place where people who share my love of beautiful things could come to browse and feel inspired by a unique collection of modern and vintage treasures. I like to bring together the unexpected and believe that wonderful things grow from the marriage of vintage and contemporary design. I am passionate about design and quality and aim to bring beautiful objects from the past and present together in an inspirational and creative environment.
Since I was a little girl, I have been a collector. On walks through my neighbourhood and parks, I used to pick up stones, leaves and scraps of metal, and when I was seven I saved up all my pocket money to buy a 50 cent coin collection. These days I’m more into collecting snowdomes and vintage glass jars and bottles…but I still have the stone and metal collections!
A film & television graduate, I have worked an eclectic mix of jobs, including running a video store, working in accounts, and teaching English to kindergarten kids in Berlin. In 2006 I decided to follow my dreams and work towards opening my own home, gift and garden shop. In 2008 that dream finally became a reality as Mr Sparrow opened his doors.
